  Seriously folks, if this place is so great, with great quality items, why is lacking people frequenting the establishment? A lukewarm atmosphere, when we arrived at 10:10 AM, there was a waffle plate being served with strawberries and whip cream, and looked a little tempting to us, the newcomers and first time buyers, truly sold before even setting foot on this so called French inspired ‍ bakery. Those glowing 5 Star reviews will do it each time, with that kind of feedback dazzling with praises, half the battle is won.
  So again with my question: if this bakery is a 5 , and 5 stars is the highest rating, does this mean that the best of the best bakeries in France are also 5 Stars? Or this excellent number of reviews only apply to the uneventful strip mall in which this Gourmet Cafe & Bakery is located. Does it compete with all bakeries in Orange County? Where does competition end, really?
  The very few pastries on display were all baked dark, and came to discover that the dough used, which had its merits, but certainly no work of art, was used in different forms.
  The hugely popular Almond Croissants were almost gone at the time we walked in, so we bought the last 3. Price around $3.30? each. Next with the same type dough, some variation of an Apple filling, which turned out to be with a filling of apple sauce, either the baby Gerber type, or the one that comes in a big can. Horrific choice for such praised bakery. Dry, flaky, flat but somewhat buttery. Next, a Baguette that had a crust of extreme resilience, weak dental or denture, be cautious. This is the skills of a French baker, this hard to chew, basically tasteless bread ? Prices in general are expensive, so happy we only blew about $26+, thanks to our propensity to believe a group of reviews, that frankly, were far fetched. We waited to try our purchase in our home, but no go. I use to think that bad reviews were written by individuals with a mean strike, but more and more, I am giving bad reviews the respect they deserve, with rare exceptions. I have been fortunate to have tried great bakeries, and no, this is not one of them. The plate with a waffle that called our eye, no joke, was left almost untouched by the person who ordered it. 2.5 Stars.
